The incumbent is responsible for overseeing, administering and managing group insurance functions, ensuring cost efficient and high-quality insurance services for the Group’s business units and individual owner of residential projects. Additionally, the role includes implementing risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with insurance coverage and claims, enhancing overall protection for the Group and its stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze the insurance needs of the Group’s business and operations in PRC and Southern-East Asia Region countries, including but not limited to placement and management of the following insurance programs
    1. Property and casualty insurance programs, employees’ compensation, motors, medical malpractice, educator liability, directors and officers policies, etc. for all operating functions of the Group
    2. Constructional Insurance Programs for Group’s major development projects in HK, PRC and SEA countries and Contractor All Risks Open Cover Program for all the work
    3. Employees’ Benefits Schemes including Group Medical Benefits Scheme, Group Travel and Group Personal Accidents Programs
    4. Marine hull & machinery & war risks and Protection & Indemnity insurance policies for passenger ferry operations and cruise assets
  • Manage all the insurance related matters, ensure the systematic and efficient claims process and settlement and satisfactory performance of risk and insurance consultants
  • Dealing with internal stakeholders, working with insurance brokers, insurance companies, insurance companies, loss adjusters and solicitors, etc.
  • Perform compliance review on insurance policies, and evaluate the insurance requirements for the Group’s businesses and operations with business partners including vendors, construction contractors and service providers
  • Monitor insurance budgets and premiums to ensure cost-effective insurance solutions aligned with the Group’s financial objectives
  • Analyze claims data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and report key metrics to management
  • Provide training workshops for the Group’s operating units for promoting the risk prevention measures and for improving the work place safety, minimizing the risks exposure and the efficiency of claims handling, for the sake of the Group’s long-term benefit
  • Administer insurance programs and assist business partners to enroll in the insurance programs and handle enquiries from internal departments
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as required

Requirements:
  • Degree holder in Risk and/or Insurance, Management or related disciplines with relevant professional qualification (e.g. ANZII, ACII, ARM or CRM) are preferred
  • At least 8 years of experience in risk management, insurance or related filed in a sizable organization with at least 4 years in managerial position
  • Competent in property and casualty insurances, marine hull and protection & indemnity, construction related insurances, employee compensations and group medical benefits scheme arrangements with exposure in technical claims and interpretation of legal liability
  • Good knowledge of the industries of insurance brokers, insurance companies and loss adjusters
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively various stakeholders in conjunction with brokers and insurers
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese and Putonghua and negotiation skills with experience in comprehensive tendering process
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Manager
